  1. Credit Card Authorization & Processing

    What happens when I place an order?

    Whenever an order is placed on our website using a credit card, our software negotiates with your bank to hold the amount specified on your order, allocating that amount specifically for our use. Whether the sale is approved or declined.

    What if my order is “In Process”?

    You don’t have to do anything, your card went through and your product will ship within 1-2 business days unless there is a problem with stock, in which case we will contact you and inform you of the lead time.

    What if my order is “On Hold”?

     If your order confirmation email informs you that your status is “On Hold” then there was a problem and the charge was not approved. Most of the time it is with personal information verification, such as, the Address Verification Service (your billing address associated with the card) or the Card Verification Value (the ‘security code’ for your card, three digits on the back for Visa or MasterCard and four digits on the front for American Express) Keep in mind that even if your card was declined the amount negotiated with your bank is still allocated since the bank is not always involved in the “Declining” or “Approving” of your card. You are not required to contact us, although if your order is not a rush (Next Day Air, Second Day Air or Three Day Select) then we may take up to 1-2 business days for us to contact you. When we do get into contact we will ask for personal information to ensure that you are the card holder, this information is used for manually processing your card with a physical credit card machine. This creates a new allocation of funds on your account so it is important to make sure that there are plenty of funds available because there will essentially be two instances of allocated funds. If the card is declined again we strongly advise not running the card again because it will allocate even more on the card. If the card is approved then one allocation becomes a charge, the other allocation is released and goes away within 3-4 business days depending on your bank.

  2. What form of payments does Jim & Slim's Tool Supply accept?

    We gladly accept MasterCard, Visa and American Express for our online orders. We also will accept most Goverment Credit Cards (Local, State and Federal).

    Current customers with accounts at Jim & Slim's Tool Supply may use the Purchase Order as a payment method. Other arrangements can be made and handled on a case by case basis.

     

  3. Shipping Policy

    Shipping Charges: All shipping charges are estimated. Actual shipping charges may vary. If for some reason the shipping charges are caculated incorrectly we will notify you before your order is shipped about any additional charges.

    Please note free shipping offers only apply to orders shipping to an address in the contiguous United States.  If the order is shipping outside the contiguous United States we will contact you with shipping costs to your destination.

    Most of the items in our online store are shipped UPS Ground unless otherwise requested. Freight cost are determined at the time the order is placed through a live online connection to UPS.

    You have the option of shipping to multiple delivery addresses. However there is a $3.00 fee for shipping to multiple delivery addresses.

    We will also ship to APO address via the US Postal Service. You will be billed the actual shipping charges after the product has shipped. There may be additional service charge because the package(s) must be hand carried to the post office. The additional charge will not exceed $20.00.

    Large items such as compressors, generators, power pack and other large equipment must be shipped by common carrier. You will be contacted after the order is received to determine delivery location (business, residential), freight costs and other deliver requirements.

    Please note that some large items must ship by common carrier (tractor trailer).  It is highly recommended to have these items delivered to a business address with a forklift or loading dock if possible. Residential deliveries usually require additional freight charges. We will contact you before shipping if this is the case.  Normally freight companies will only deliver to the curb during residential deliveries.  You will need to have a way to move your order from the delivery point.

    When will you order ship? We do our best to ship all orders received before noon on normal business days (Mon. - Fri.) the same day. If there is goung to be a delay in shipping your order because we are out of stock we will notify you by email. If we happen to be out of one or more of the items you ordered we may elect to have some or all of your order shipped directly fropm the manufacturer to avoid any unessary delays.


    Yes, we will ship anywhere in the world.

    We will bill you for the following:

    Products you ordered.
    Actual shipping cost.
    

    There may be other charges involved that we have no control over.

    We do not collect any of the following that countries other than the US may impose.

    Taxes
    Duties
    Brokerage Fees
    Other Miscellaneous Fees.
    

    You will need to contact the appropriate department within your country to determine what additional fees will be charged.

    Please note common carriers are only required to make the delivery and are not required to assist in unloading the items. It is recommended that deliveries be made to a business address with a fork lift or loading dock. It is the customers responsibility to unload these items at the destination. There may be an addition charge if a lift gate is required.

  5. Shipping to countries other the United States.

    Yes, we will ship anywhere in the world.

  6. What about warranties?

    All products that we sell are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Refer to the manufacturer's website or catalog for specific details on each manufacturer.

    Some manufactures offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If for any reason you are not satisfied with the item you have purchased. Return it to us (at your expense) within 30 days and we will issue a full refund.


    Warranty repairs should be handled through a factory-authorized service center. Contact the manufacturer for a service center near you. We are a factory authorized service center for many of the manufacturers that we sell.

    You are responsible for all shipping charges on repairs - Warranty and Non-Warranty to and from the service center.

     

  7. What if I need to return my order?

    We are interested in your satisfaction. We offer 30 day money back guarantee.
    • The return must be pre-approved.

    • Items must be returned in the original packaging and in resalable condition.

    • Returned at your expense

    • Shipping charges, if any cannot be refunded.

    • If the returned item has be misused, a refund will not be issued and the tool will be returned at the customers expense.

    • Your return may be subject to a restocking fee. The fee is determined when the returned item is received.

  8. Does Jim & Slim's Charge Sales Tax?

    Yes, as required by law we are required to collect state sales tax in several states. This is done automatically by our website.

    There are exceptions:

    • The items are for resale and the purchase can prove this with a resale tax certificate.
    • Valid local, state and federal government agencies.
    • Sometimes if we don't have an item, manufacturers ship it for us which may or may not incur sales tax. Most of the time we chose to cover this cost, however, you may be contacted after completing your order if the amount is greater than we can cover.

     

  9. Pricing Errors

    From time to time we will have an item displaying the incorrect price. We reserve the right to correct the price before processing the order.  We will notify the you as soon as we become aware of it and give you the option of canceling the order or accepting the price adjustment. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
